Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine examined the impact of neocortical and cerebellar malformations on seizures in female C57BL/6J mice. The researchers used the chemi-convulsant flurothyl to induce seizures in the mice and recorded the time to seizure onset. They found that mice with neocortical and/or cerebellar malformations had significantly reduced seizure onset times. These findings have implications for understanding brain development, epilepsy, and other nervous system diseases. The full article can be accessed for free online. [Extracted from the article]
