Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania has investigated the prevalence of genomic alterations in homologous recombination DNA damage response (HR-DDR) genes among patients with uterine sarcoma. The study analyzed data from the American Association for Cancer Research GENIE v13.0 database and the OncoKB database to identify patients with various types of uterine sarcoma. The results showed that approximately 28.2% of patients with uterine sarcoma had HR-DDR genomic alterations, with the highest incidence observed in patients with leiomyosarcoma, adenosarcoma, and undifferentiated uterine sarcoma. The study highlights the importance of understanding the genetic factors involved in uterine sarcoma and may contribute to the development of targeted therapies. [Extracted from the article]
