Chapter 75: Harold Williams, 'The Wessex Novels of Thomas Hardy', North American Review.

Chapter 75 is presented for the volume on English novelist and poet Thomas Hardy from "The Critical Heritage Series." A reprint is provided of an article entitled "The Wessex Novels of Thomas Hardy," written by critic, scholar and bibliographer Harold Williams, from the January 1914 issue of the journal "North American Review." The author analyzes Hardy's novels which take place in Wessex, England including "Far From the Madding Crowd," "The Woodlanders" and "The Return of the Native."
