Abstract
- Researchers at Juntendo University in Shizuoka, Japan have reported on two cases of isolated adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) deficiency associated with the use of atezolizumab and bevacizumab for treating hepatocellular carcinoma. Both patients experienced symptoms such as fatigue, appetite loss, eosinophilia, and hyponatremia. Endocrinological investigations revealed unsatisfactory ACTH and cortisol responses, indicating isolated ACTH deficiency. The researchers emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and treatment with steroid replacement therapy to allow for the continuation of immunotherapy. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in Internal Medicine. [Extracted from the article]
