Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of California examined the association between food insecurity and breast cancer screening adherence in low-income women in California. The study found that food insecurity was inversely associated with being up-to-date with breast cancer screening. The researchers suggest that interventions addressing both food insecurity and breast cancer screening could help improve screening rates among low-income women. This study highlights the need to address breast cancer screening disparities in this population. [Extracted from the article]
