Abstract
- A study conducted by researchers at Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom aimed to examine the effects of dietary nitrate supplementation on the contractile properties of skeletal muscle. The study reviewed 19 relevant studies and found that dietary nitrate supplementation showed a small improvement in peak power output, mean power output, and time to peak power output during dynamic exercise. However, there was no clear effect on isometric maximum voluntary contraction. The researchers recommend further exploration in areas where evidence is lacking and standardization of study design and procedures. [Extracted from the article]
