Abstract
- A new report from Astana Medical University in Kazakhstan discusses the effects of different anesthetics on oxygen consumption, transport, and energy expenditure during heart bypass surgery. The study found that propofol anesthesia reduced oxygen consumption and energy expenditure more than sevoflurane and isoflurane anesthesia. Additionally, isoflurane significantly reduced cardiac index compared to propofol and sevoflurane. The research suggests that careful attention to anesthetic care can enhance patient safety and outcomes in cardiac surgery. [Extracted from the article]
