Abstract

The article advocates for the adoption of restorative practices in schools for community building and conflict resolution or mediation. It discusses the benefits of restorative practices such as reduced misbehavior and improvements in student health and educational outcomes. Steps are recommended for principals who are hoping to build a restorative community, that include shifting to a relational culture, developing staff mastery and ensuring all students have access to restorative practices.
