Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Nasser Institute Hospital has presented a new protocol for closing cocaine fistulae, which are challenging defects caused by cocaine abuse. The study used a combination of palatal flap delay and facial artery musculomucosal flap, and found that this technique was reliable and resulted in good healing patterns without any signs of breakdown, recurrence, or residual fistulae. Patient satisfaction was also evaluated and found to be high. The researchers concluded that the combination of palatal flap delay and facial artery musculomucosal flap is a reliable method for closing cocaine fistulae. [Extracted from the article]
