Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Messina in Italy explores the role of sirtuins in the regulation of epigenetic processes. Sirtuins are a type of enzyme involved in various physiological and pathological processes, including cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, obesity and diabetes, age-related disorders, and cancer. The study specifically focuses on the potential of Citrus flavonoids, found in Mediterranean diet, to modulate sirtuins and their signaling pathways. The findings suggest that Citrus flavonoids may have promising therapeutic applications in the future. [Extracted from the article]
