Abstract

A research study conducted at Huzhou University in China has identified a strain of Aeromonas dhakensis as the cause of mass mortality in adult Macrobrachium rosenbergii, a type of freshwater prawn. The strain, named DKQ-1, was found to be highly pathogenic and capable of causing serious tissue damage in the prawns. The study also revealed that DKQ-1 was sensitive to 16 antibiotics, resistant to 9 antibiotics, and had intermediate resistance to spectinomycin and kanamycin. This research provides valuable information for the identification and prevention of bacterial diseases in M. rosenbergii caused by A. dhakensis. [Extracted from the article]
