Abstract

A patent application has been submitted for occlusive devices that can be used to treat intracranial aneurysms. These devices consist of a mesh that can be implanted in the aneurysm and transition between a collapsed state for delivery and an expanded state within the aneurysm. The mesh is designed to induce the formation of a thrombus and closure of the aneurysm's neck, reducing the risk of rupture. The patent application also includes variations of the device, such as those with multiple mesh layers and a membrane. The inventors of the application are Taylor S. Dorans, Elijah Klar, Junwei Li, Robert A. Pecor, Mehdi Matteo Rashidi, Jared Akira Shimizu, and John M. Wainwright. [Extracted from the article]
