Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Toyohashi Municipal Hospital in Japan has found that measuring hematopoietic progenitor cells (AP-HPCs) in leukapheresis products using Sysmex XN-series analyzers can help determine if a sufficient number of CD34+ stem cells have been collected. This is particularly important when using plerixafor, a stem cell-mobilizing drug that requires administration the day before leukapheresis. The study found a strong correlation between AP-CD34+ and AP-HPC counts, with AP-HPCs being able to identify cases where enough stem cells have been collected. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in Internal Medicine. [Extracted from the article]
