Abstract

Researchers from Houston Methodist Hospital have reported on a case of synchronous pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) in a patient with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). The patient, a 49-year-old woman with a history of TSC and end-stage renal disease, presented with bilateral adrenal and retroperitoneal masses. After undergoing surgery, the patient's plasma normetanephrine and chromogranin A levels normalized. This case highlights a rare presentation of bilateral PPGL in a patient with TSC. Further research and diagnostic workup are needed in this area. [Extracted from the article]
