Abstract

A study conducted at Sana'a University in Yemen examined the diagnostic value of two tests, the stool antigen test (SAT) and the serum Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) IgG antibody assay, in detecting H. pylori infections. The study found that both tests were useful in diagnosing H. pylori infection and distinguishing between acute and chronic infections. The prevalence of H. pylori infection varied depending on the test used, with rates of 54% for SAT and 78.5% for serum H. pylori IgG antibody. The study also found a significant association between H. pylori infection and gastrointestinal symptoms. [Extracted from the article]
