Abstract
- A recent study conducted in South Korea examined the effectiveness of a 2-dose varicella (chickenpox) vaccination in preventing the disease. The study used national surveillance data and the national immunization registry to analyze the vaccine's effectiveness. The results showed that the 2-dose vaccination strategy had a VE of 98.6%, while the 1-dose strategy had a VE of 16.8%. These findings suggest that the 2-dose vaccination strategy can be an effective way to prevent varicella. The research was supported by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and conducted by researchers from Korea University. [Extracted from the article]
