Abstract

A recent study conducted at West Virginia University explored the feasibility and impact of a 16-week tele-Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance (TJQMBB) intervention for older adults. The study found that the tele-TJQMBB program was feasible and had a positive impact on outcomes, including improvements in gait speed, balance, lower-extremity strength, and body mass index. The researchers suggest that tele-TJQMBB could be an alternative delivery mode to expand the reach and maintenance of the fall-prevention intervention for older adults. Further information on the study can be found in the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity. [Extracted from the article]
