Abstract
- A study conducted at the University of Gothenburg has found that women with triple-negative breast cancer and high levels of immune cells in their tumors have a lower risk of relapse after surgery, even without chemotherapy. Triple-negative breast cancer is more common in younger women and those of African American, Hispanic, and Indian descent. The study included data from 1,966 participants worldwide and found that the level of immune cells in the tumors was a strong predictor of prognosis. The researchers suggest that further research is needed to determine if patients with high levels of immune cells could avoid intensive treatment with chemotherapy. [Extracted from the article]
