Abstract

A new report from the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases provides updated data on the global burden of cystic echinococcosis (CE), a neglected tropical parasitic disease. The study analyzed data from 1990 to 2019 and projected trends for the next 10 years. The findings show a decline in the incidence rate and disease burden of CE over time, but the global burden remains high. The research recommends allocating more health resources to low socio-demographic index regions, women, and the elderly to reduce the disease burden of CE. [Extracted from the article]
