Abstract

Researchers at South China University of Technology have reported on a study that explores the production of biocompatible porous materials using wet foam as a template. The study found that the combination of gliadin particles and gellan gum significantly hindered the drainage of liquid and aging of bubbles in wet foam, resulting in exceptional stability for up to 84 days. These porous materials exhibited non-cytotoxic properties, favorable mechanical performance, and exceptional water absorption capacity. The researchers suggest that these materials have promising applications in cell-cultured meat, biotechnology, and biomedicine. [Extracted from the article]
