Abstract
- A study conducted by Dalhousie University's Agri-Food Analytics Lab reveals that 58% of Canadians are more likely to consume food past its "best before" date due to economic pressures from rising food prices. This behavior poses significant health risks, with 20% of respondents reporting sickness related to consuming expired food. Millennials are particularly vulnerable, with 41% having experienced foodborne illnesses from eating expired food. These findings highlight the need for enhanced risk communication and consumer education on food safety during times of economic strain. [Extracted from the article]
