REPORT ON THE PAPERS READ AT THE 7th INTERNATIONAL GRASSLAND CONGRESS.

The article presents a report on the papers read at the 7th International Grassland Congress, which was held at Massey College, Palmerston North, New Zealand, during November 6-15, 1956. The Congress, attended by some 180 overseas delegates from 35 countries together with over a hundred delegates from New Zealand, was intended for the presentation of papers on recent developments in grassland thought. These were arranged in thirteen sessions, dealing with various aspects of grassland, at each of which four papers were read. Considerable attention was paid to the introduction and breeding of improved pasture species. Various aspects in the breeding of improved herbage varieties were presented in ten papers.
