Abstract

This article discusses a study conducted at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, which examined the experiences and attitudes of optometry students towards online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study found that while approximately half of the students were satisfied with online learning, many felt that it could not fully replace practical education in laboratory and clinical settings. Access to technology and digital literacy skills were also identified as important factors for successful online learning. Overall, the study suggests the need for a blended learning approach and supplementary programs to enhance practical and clinical competencies in optometry education. [Extracted from the article]
