Abstract

Researchers from Shanghai Ocean University have developed a multi-channel electrochemical biosensor based on polyadenine tetrahedra for the detection of multiple drug resistance genes. The biosensor was able to achieve excellent performance, with a detection limit as low as 1 fM for synthetic DNA targets. The system was also able to detect drug resistance genes in E. coli, including MCR-1, blaNDM, blaKPC, and blaOXA. The researchers believe that this biosensor could provide powerful technical support for the rapid detection of antibiotic-resistant strains in the field. [Extracted from the article]
