Abstract
- Researchers from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy have conducted a study on the prevalence and distribution of plasmid-mediated class C beta-lactamase (pAmpC) among Enterobacteriaceae isolates in Thailand and Vietnam. The study found that the prevalence of pAmpC was 37.1% in second and third-generation cephalosporin resistant Enterobacteriaceae. The CMY-2 type was prominent in both countries, but its prevalence varied among hospitals. The incidence of pAmpC was significantly higher in Vietnam compared to Thailand. These findings highlight the widespread and diverse distribution of transferable AmpC among Enterobacteriaceae in these two Asia-Pacific countries. [Extracted from the article]
