Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Children's Hospital at Westmead in Australia explored the perceptions of nurses in surgical neonatal intensive care units (sNICUs) regarding developmental care practices. The study found that nurses who had received formal developmental care education were more likely to perceive its consistent application and value, as well as receive support from their peers. The majority of respondents recognized the benefits of developmental care for parents and infants. The researchers suggest that future research should focus on evaluating the application of developmental care in sNICUs. [Extracted from the article]
