Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the National University of Trujillo in Peru examined the presence of Candida albicans, a type of fungus, in intravenous lipid solutions administered to premature infants. The study found that Candida albicans was not detected in any of the filtered or unfiltered samples. However, the researchers recommend the use of a single 1.2 pm filter in line 'Y' according to international standards to ensure the health system is protected. This research provides valuable insights for optimizing the use of filters in intravenous nutrition for premature infants. [Extracted from the article]
