Abstract
- Michelle Nussbaumer, a Dallas-based interior designer and gardener, discovered a dilapidated hacienda in San Miguel de Allende that dated back to the 1600s and 1700s. She made a handshake deal with the rightful owner and named the property Buena Fe. Nussbaumer spent two months clearing the trash and began envisioning a garden filled with agave, cacti, and various flowers and vegetables. With the help of local craftsmen, she repurposed materials and brought the hacienda to life, creating terraces, courtyards, and intimate enclaves. The garden grew in a haphazard and symbiotic way, with plants coming from friends and neighbors, adding sentimental value to the space. [Extracted from the article]
