Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Anqing Municipal Hospital in China explored the risk factors for arteriovenous fistula (AVF) dysfunction in hemodialysis (HD) patients. The researchers used a synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) to establish a prediction model for AVF dysfunction. The study found that females, diabetes mellitus, low albumin levels, high C-reactive protein levels, high blood phosphorus levels, and AVF stenosis were risk factors for AVF dysfunction in HD patients. The SMOTE-based early warning model showed higher predictive value compared to the traditional logistic regression model. This research provides valuable insights into AVF dysfunction in HD patients and may contribute to improved prevention and management strategies. [Extracted from the article]
