Abstract

A recent study conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatria Ramon de la Fuente Muniz in Mexico has found that circadian synchronization of feeding can reduce anxiety levels in rats subjected to food restriction. The researchers compared the corticosterone blood concentration and anxiety parameters of rats fed ad libitum or calorie-restricted diets with all-day or intermittent fasting food access. They found that circadian feeding synchronization reduced body weight, food intake, and anxiety levels in both groups with ad libitum or restricted food access. The study suggests that synchronizing feeding with the activity phase may help improve diet therapy adherence in patients. [Extracted from the article]
