Abstract
- A research study conducted at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China, has discovered a new mechanism for the apoptosis of human neuroblastoma cells. The study focused on the interaction between fluorene-9-bisphenol (BHPF) and the G protein-coupled estrogen receptor 1 (GPER). Through a combination of theoretical study and experimental methods, the researchers found that BHPF inhibits the GPER-mediated effect by directly binding to the receptor. The study suggests that BHPF is a GPER inhibitor and provides insights into its molecular recognition mechanism, which is important for assessing the health risks associated with BHPF.
