Abstract

A recent study conducted in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic, has found a link between erectile dysfunction (ED) and disorders of thyroid function. The study included 51 men with thyroid dysfunction, either hypofunction or hyperfunction, and found that all of them experienced some form of erectile dysfunction. Treatment for thyroid dysfunction was shown to improve erectile function, and the researchers recommend screening for thyroid dysfunction in all men with ED. The study suggests that treatment for ED with iPDE5 agents can be initiated before treatment for thyroid dysfunction. [Extracted from the article]
