Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel, examined the quality of life (QOL) for adults with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) living in residential group homes. The study found that strict regimens of restricted caloric intake and daily physical exercise, which are crucial for managing PWS, can be challenging to implement in home environments. However, PWS-specialized hostels (SH) were successful in preventing morbid obesity and managing behavioral disorders. The study concluded that living in SH was associated with benefits for physical health and behavior without negatively affecting QOL. [Extracted from the article]
