Abstract
- A study conducted by the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota examined the current practices and opinions of cochlear implant providers regarding post-implantation auditory training for adult recipients. The survey found that 99% of respondents recommend auditory training for new adult cochlear implant recipients, with most providers offering patient-directed exercises and computer-based auditory training programs as resources. The preferred timing for rehabilitation was immediately after activation, with sessions typically lasting 3 hours per week for 12 months. The study also highlighted a lack of consensus among providers regarding which training approaches are most effective. [Extracted from the article]
