Abstract

A clinical trial, NCT06455969, is being conducted by the University of Pittsburgh in collaboration with the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command to study the impact of hormonal intervention on muscle, tendon, and bone function, as well as physical and psychological performance in response to mental and physical stress. The trial aims to understand how drug interventions can prevent non-combat-related injuries in military personnel, which are common and affect military readiness. The study will involve examining hormone levels, muscle and bone images, blood samples, and physical and mental performance. The goal is to use the results to improve physical readiness training in the military and reduce injuries. The trial is not yet recruiting participants and is estimated to be completed by August 1, 2026. [Extracted from the article]
