Abstract

A research report from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University discusses the role of sulodexide (SDX) in inhibiting neointimal hyperplasia of arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) in rats with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The study found that SDX treatment reduced neointimal hyperplasia in AVFs and increased the expression of pYAP while decreasing the expression of CTGF. SDX was also found to block YAP activation caused by CKD. These findings suggest that SDX may be a potential treatment for neointimal hyperplasia in AVFs. [Extracted from the article]
