Abstract

• Ballast Water Report compliance kept rising after 2015 and can reach 99.54 % in 2024. • Yet, a higher and more equivalent inspection rate would be expected between areas. • The digitalization of the reports in 2022 allowed more complex automated analysis. • Main ballast water discharges come from the Indo-Pacific Region and Brazil. • The digitalization and the Ballast Water Project will enhance biosecurity assessment.
