Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the University of Tabriz in Iran explored the use of ionic liquids (ILs) as solvents in various industries, including pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Ionic liquids are considered "green solvents" due to their low vapor pressure. The researchers focused on choline-based ILs, which are known for their low toxicity and high biodegradability. They synthesized and characterized an ionic liquid called choline lactate and examined its interactions with amino acids glycine, L-alanine, and L-phenylalanine. The study found that the interactions between the ionic liquid and amino acids were influenced by temperature. This research provides valuable insights into the thermodynamic and transport properties of amino acids in the presence of ionic liquids. [Extracted from the article]
