Abstract

A recent report from the University of Siena discusses new research on neurodegenerative diseases and conditions. The study focuses on the regulation of cytochrome P450 (CYP) in neuronal cells and its potential role in the onset of neurodegenerative diseases. The researchers used human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells and found that specific CYP isoforms can be modulated in these cells. This suggests that SH-SY5Y cells could serve as an experimental model to investigate the involvement of CYPs in neuronal processes related to neurodegenerative diseases. [Extracted from the article]
