Abstract

A recent report from the Department of Neurology discusses the findings of a case study on the herpes zoster virus. The study focuses on a rare neurological complication of the virus, which caused reduced unilateral sweating in a 34-year-old woman. The patient exhibited symptoms such as sore throat, dizziness, and reduced sweating on the left side of her body. The research suggests that the reduced sweating was due to damage to the autonomic nervous system caused by the activation of latent herpes zoster virus. Doctors should consider this possibility when treating patients with acute hemibody sweat reduction. [Extracted from the article]
