Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Miami aimed to understand the relationship between geolocational dating apps and technology-facilitated sexual violence (TFSV) among university students. The study found that over half of the respondents reported experiencing some form of TFSV while using dating apps, with women and non-heterosexual students experiencing significantly more TFSV than male and heterosexual students. The researchers recommend implementing interventions to address campus social norms, comprehensive sexuality education, consent education, and improved regulation of TFSV by technology companies, particularly for cisgender, heterosexual women, and gender and sexual minorities.
