Abstract

Researchers at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine have conducted a study exploring the relationship between estradiol (E2) and the incidence of hyperuricemia (HUA) in adult women. The study, which included 2,941 participants aged 20-65 years, found that E2 levels were negatively associated with HUA in female individuals but not in male individuals. Additionally, markers of glucolipid metabolism, such as total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), and the triglyceride-glucose index (TyG), were found to mediate the relationship between E2 and HUA. The study suggests that women aged 45-65 years with lower E2 levels have a greater incidence of HUA. [Extracted from the article]
