Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Michigan aimed to replicate the results of a previous study that found a genetic association between certain variants and musculoskeletal symptoms induced by aromatase inhibitors (AI) in breast cancer patients. The researchers collected data from patients with hormone receptor positive (HR+) breast cancer and tested for an association between specific genetic variants and AI-induced musculoskeletal syndrome (AIMSS). However, the study did not find a significant association between the genetic variants and AIMSS risk. Further research is needed to identify and validate genetic predictors of AIMSS in order to personalize treatment for HR+ breast cancer patients. [Extracted from the article]
