Abstract
- A recent report from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, discusses the application of physical vapor deposition (PVD) coatings in medical implantology. PVD coating technology is widely used in various industries and has numerous benefits for medical implants. These coatings improve osseointegration, reduce wear and friction, increase corrosion resistance, and have antibacterial properties, leading to better patient outcomes and a higher quality of life. The report highlights the different uses of PVD-coated medical implants, including orthopedic, dental, cardiovascular, and neurosurgical devices. It also addresses the challenges and prospects of PVD coating technologies. This review is valuable for academics, doctors, and businesspeople interested in the combination of PVD coating and medical implantology. [Extracted from the article]
