Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Celal Bayar University School of Medicine in Manisa, Turkey, examined the quality of life (QoL) in children with Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) and their parents' perception of their QoL. The study found that the severity of FMF is inversely correlated with QoL scores, with mild cases having the highest scores. Various factors such as disease severity, treatment adherence, healthcare utilization, genetic mutations, family income, and maternal age at birth significantly impact the perceived QoL in FMF patients. The study concluded that FMF significantly impacts children's daily activities, academic performance, and family functioning, and healthcare providers should be aware of these QoL changes in managing FMF patients.
