Abstract

A recent report from Chonbuk National University Hospital in South Korea discusses research on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The study analyzed the medication use patterns and safety of drugs among patients diagnosed with PCOS. The research found that the most prescribed medications for PCOS were medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) and ethinyl estradiol with drospirenone. Adverse drug reactions occurred in 7.1% of patients, with 4.8% being adolescents and 9.3% being adults. The study also noted that some patients changed prescriptions or discontinued medications.
