Abstract
- The article discusses the importance of protecting and strengthening Marine Corps installations in the Pacific region. It highlights the vulnerabilities of these installations to attacks and severe weather and emphasizes the need for shelters, medical capabilities, and prepositioned supplies to mitigate these risks. The article also emphasizes the importance of investing in training facilities and capabilities to support future force design and distributed operations. It raises questions about the protection of Marines and their families in the Western Pacific and emphasizes the need to prioritize the protection and resilience of Marine Corps installations for effective crisis response and warfighting. The article also emphasizes the importance of investing in intrusion detection, security personnel, medical capacity, and counter-unmanned aerial systems to protect against potential attacks.
