Abstract

Researchers at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China have conducted a study on the use of in-situ electric stimulation to promote the repair of renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. The researchers developed a biodegradable nanofibrous membrane made of polylactide/Vitamin B2 (PLLA/VB2) that demonstrated enhanced piezoelectric performance and flexibility. Experimental results showed that the PLLA/VB2 nanofibrous membrane could mitigate tubular injury, facilitate cell regeneration, and alleviate interstitial fibrosis. This innovative approach has the potential to address I/R related conditions and offer treatments for diseases linked to oxidative stress. [Extracted from the article]
