Abstract
- Researchers at Southern Medical University in Guangdong, China have developed a novel hybrid hydrogel for repairing osteoporotic bone defects. The hydrogel, called PGA-DA &T4, combines a bioactive hydrophilic nanocage with gamma-polyglutamic acid (gamma-PGA) and dopamine. The hydrogel demonstrated favorable injectability, shape-adaptivity, self-healability, and antioxidant ability. In vitro experiments showed that the hydrogel is biocompatible, promotes cell migration and neovascularization, and accelerates osteogenic differentiation while inhibiting osteoclastogenesis. This research provides a promising biomaterial for potential clinical application in bone regeneration. [Extracted from the article]
