Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Quebec Trois-Rivieres has discovered a new hybrid molecule that shows potential as an anticancer agent. The molecule, made up of estradiol and testosterone, was designed to interact with both estrogen and androgen receptors found in hormone-dependent cancer cells. The researchers found that the molecule was effective against hormone-dependent breast cancer cells, but had limited effects on prostate cancer cells. However, it showed activity against colon and skin cancer cells. Further research is needed to explore the potential of this new type of hybrid molecule. [Extracted from the article]
